The Marvin George Jr. Memorial Scholarship
2008 Scholarship Rules and Regulations

One $1500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior or current college student with the intentions of pursuing a degree in an Agricultural Field.

Eligibility

The Marvin George Jr. Memorial Scholarship is open to any Graduating Senior or current college student who is a family member (including immediate and extended family member) of a current Texas Certified Farmers Market Member.

Applicant must be a Texas Resident and be scheduled to Graduate in the 2007 / 2008 School Year or attending college.

Applicant must show evidence of potential for continuing his/her education with a Texas College, University or Technical School pursuing a degree in an Agricultural Related Field.

The decision of the Directors is the Final Authority in all matters pertaining to the selection of recipient and administration of the fund.

If for any reason a recipient shall not go to school, he or she shall forfeit the scholarship

Awarded Funds will be presented to the recipient’s choice of college/university by check.

Use of the funds is intended for Tuition and Books.

Applications Must Be Received By April 1, 2008.

The Directors shall screen all applicants

A check form the Scholarship Fund will be sent to the Recipient’s College or University along with the requirements of the scholarship.

The Scholarship recipient will be chosen at the April Board Meeting.  The winner will be notified by mail, and recognized in the Spring 2008 Newsletter.
